The Abbot Agathon — Composed by Arvo Pärt, Text by Pärt after stories of the Desert Fathers of Egypt (4th-century); English translation by Cori Ellison commissioned by AOP, sung by soprano Sarah Moulton Faux.

AOP will co-produce The Abbot Agathon with String Orchestra of Brooklyn an evening-length program of Arvo Pärt works celebrating the composer’s 90th birthday. The composer’s Third Symphony as well as Canctus in Memory of Benjamin Britten and Pärt’s most famous work, Fratres, will also be part of the program.
