COMMUNITY

For over twenty years, AOP has been a proud part of the Fort Greene neighborhood in Brooklyn, providing free and low-cost public presentations of concerts, workshops, and premieres in partnership with many local organizations. The creators we work with and the stories we help them tell contribute meaningfully to a long-awaited shift in our field: to diversify the operatic canon, expand the beautiful variety of which stories are told and who is telling them, and to make opera an integral contemporary expression of our daily lives.
