June 24 at 5:00pm, online presentation of Precipice
presented in collaboration with AMANDA + JAMES
Join us on Thursday, June 24th from 5-6pm for an online work-in-progress presentation of Precipice, in collaboration with AMANDA + JAMES and their PlayTime series, devoted to readings of new works of theater. Told as an object theatre/chamber opera, Precipice sets an intimate story against epic natural landscapes, created with hand-made paper dioramas and live feed video. This contemporary fairy tale looks at how we are silenced and exiled, and at how we find our way back to connection, both with each other and the natural world.
Featuring music excerpts and interviews with the creative team: Susan Zeeman Rogers (concept and design), Rima Fand (music), Karen Fisher (libretto), and Mallory Catlett (direction), hosted by James Danner.
Get your tickets by clicking on the button below, and you’ll receive a link to watch the livestream.
The development of Precipice received funding from OPERA America’s Opera Grants for Female Composers program, supported by the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation, and by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
