House of Legendary, composed by Joseph N. Rubinstein and libretto by Jason Kim, both alumni of AOP's Composers & the Voice (C&V) training program, will receive an orchestral concert performance at The Tank (312 West 36th St., New York, NY 10018) at 7:00 PM on Thursday June 27 as part of PrideFest 2024, in collaboration with String Orchestra of Brooklyn (SOB).
House of Legendary is the story of a famed drag performer Dee Legendary as they embark on a passionate love affair with Officer John, whose fascination with Dee takes an unexpected and dangerous turn. A contemporary riff on La traviata, House of Legendary is an exploration of queer family set against the backdrop of NYC’s 1980s ballroom scene.
