American Opera Projects in consultation with Opera On Tap will create and present a 12 session workshop for middle schoolers living in District 57 who will participate in a free after-school program this Fall to be held in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn.

Our programming will introduce students to all aspects of opera by giving them the agency to jump right in and create their own opera leveraging our custom kit of assets! Skills they will be introduced to include:

• Writing: storytelling and composition

• Design: set design, lighting and sound, costume hair and makeup, props selection

• Stage Direction: staging and rehearsal

• Business: marketing and promotion

• Production: performance and reflection
